The International Yoga Festival was started since 1999 by the help of Uttar Pradesh Government because this time Rishikesh was the part of Uttar Pradesh. In the first year of International yoga Festival, only a few participant was visited and participated in all the event. after that government contacted to Parmarth Niketan to host this festival every year in the month March. all the participants would stay in Hotel and Join Yoga classes and Satsang at Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh.
